REVIEW
FUNDING SOURCES WITH FINANCE OFFICER FOR LEFT-TURN LANE FROM CARMICHAEL ROAD TO
VINE STREET: Betty
Caruso reported that the amount budgeted for a right turn lane from Carmichael
Road to Vine Street was $58,000. Additional funds are needed to fund the $86,500 cost for a
left-turn lane that was not included in the original list of Capital
Projects. Ms. Caruso reported that
possible sources of funding were: (1) utilize the $100,000 in Contingency Funds
for Capital Projects, that was established by the Council to fund additional
projects or increases in curb, gutter or street repairs; (2) amend the Budget
and use more of the Undesignated Fund balance.
Council established $475,000 for Capital Projects, bringing the Undesignated
Fund balance to $886,000; or (3) reassess the priorities for 2004 adopted
Capital Projects (list attached). Ms.
Caruso reported that the City would not have to tap Undesignated Reserves at
present. Caruso suggested that the
Contingency Funds of $100,000, set aside for Capital Projects, be
utilized. MOTION by Radermacher, second
by O’Malley, to authorize expending $86,500.00 from the Contingency Fund to
finance the left-turn lane from Carmichael Road to Vine Street, and authorize
BRA to proceed with the project. All
