Information on Building in the City of Hudson for Homeowners & Contractors

Licensing

The State of Wisconsin requires that anyone performing work as a Residential General Contractor, Plumber, HVAC Contractor, Fire Sprinkler Contractor, Structural Welder, Utility Contractor, and other specialty trades must have a current State license. You can check on the status of or learn how to obtain a State issued license at www.commerce.state.wi.us or by calling 608-261-8500.

Commercial –   Wisconsin Enrolled Commercial Code based on the International Building Code with Wisconsin Amendments in COMM 61-65

Property Lines

The City of Hudson Community Development Department can assist you in determining your property dimensions only. Actually locating your property lines and property corners are the responsibility of the property owner. Because iron property corner monuments are typically 4-6 inches below the surface, renting a metal detector is often necessary to locate these monuments.
